My journey as a visionary artist is to find healing through art and to inspire others to find their own creative medicine.
Born and raised on Bundjalung country, art has been present in my life since I was very young. My father was a very talented oil painter - I inherited his vision and passion for art, and my mother nurtured my creativity from the moment I could hold a pencil. I have them to thank for this expression and skill that has shaped my life in such a beautiful way. My mother passed away when I was young, and the grief I was navigating led me to find solace in creativity.
Through my experience with grief, I found the alchemy of art. It’s a powerful channel to express deeper emotions that can’t be explained with words, and transform pain into beauty. Creativity is a sacred pathway to process trauma, moving it through your body to tell your story.
My style of art has mainly been intricate black-and-white drawings with ink on paper, finding inspiration, particularly in forms of nature and anatomy. I’m exploring new ways of creating visual art, and have recently been discovering joy in working with colours using acrylic and oil paints on canvas.
